Find a weekday to spend at home with your toddler.
If your spouse doesn’t work, ask them to do something else that day – part-time job, volunteer, hike, anything that will get them out for eight hours.
If you are an employee and don’t think you can “take a day off”, read Chapter 12 of Tim Ferriss’ The Four Hour Work Week on how to escape the office.
Make the day sacred. No work. No email. No work calls. If you have to, take care of these things during nap time. But, trust me, you do not want to spend the day stuck between the two worlds of your child and work. Everything will be frustrating to you. Co-workers and clients will still call. Ignore them until the next morning.
Give your little one this day. And then make it a habit.
